With operational roles varying from security officers, drivers, prison custody officers, events stewards and cash controllers to baggage screeners, technicians and investigators, no two days are the same for frontline employees who have high standards of operational delivery and a passion for excellent customer service. All these roles offer excellent long-term prospects in a friendly, professional environment.
Ongoing training and career development
We believe that continual ability and skills monitoring is an essential part of our training process and in this regard security officers are selected for advancement through the promotional refresher programmes and our management team and supervisors monitor the individual performance to ensure that the training and skills of security personnel meet customer and site security requirements. This is achieved through post-course training impact monitoring and evaluation.
Staff identified as having potential to progress to more senior positions are given the opportunity and encouragement to undergo the necessary training to prepare them for promotion. We therefore have a highly motivated and honest work force.
Our training programmes for security officers and supervisors have been tailored from G4S plc guidelines. In addition external courses are provided by various organisations including the Uganda Police to supplement competencies such as firearms.
Our training facilities are located at Head Office and to support our varied training activities we maintain a fully - fledged, trained and experienced team of trainers in the Training Section using modern training facilities.
Refresher training (Flexi-Train)
In addition to standard training we have also adopted the ‘flexi-train’ (flexible training) concept. This caters for on-going training and to meet special requirements, for example; specific Health and Safety requirements and operation of site specific equipment.
It is normally carried out at the site and often the customer also takes part or contributes specialised training material. This is to ensure that there is clear and appropriate provision of our service.
